Which routers are compatible with OrbVPN?+
Most routers running OpenWrt, DD-WRT, or ASUSWRT-Merlin are compatible. GL.iNet routers have native OrbVPN support. Check our compatibility list or contact support for specific models.
Will VPN on my router slow down my internet?+
It depends on your router's CPU. High-end routers with hardware crypto acceleration (like ASUS RT-AX88U) see minimal slowdown. Budget routers may experience 20-50% speed reduction. WireGuard is much faster than OpenVPN.
Can some devices bypass the VPN?+
Yes! With most custom firmware, you can create rules to exclude specific devices from VPN (like smart home devices that need local access).
Do I need a special subscription for router use?+
