OrbGuard Account Deletion

Summary: You can delete your OrbGuard account — which is your shared Orb account, also used by OrbVPN and OrbBrowser — at any time, either directly in the app (immediate) or by email (processed within 30 days). Deletion is permanent and removes your personal data from our systems.
OrbGuard (developed by OrbVPN) uses a single shared Orb account across OrbGuard, OrbVPN, and OrbBrowser. Deleting your account through either method below deletes that shared account and the data associated with it in all three apps.
1. How to Delete Your Account
Option A: In the App (Immediate)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the OrbGuard app:
- Open OrbGuard and go to Settings
- Tap Account security
- Tap Delete account and confirm
In-app deletion takes effect immediately and is permanent. You do not need to contact support first.
Option B: By Email
If you no longer have access to the app, or prefer to make the request in writing, email us:
- Send an email to privacy@orbvpn.com
- Send it from the email address registered to your account (so we can verify it is really you)
- Use the subject line "Delete my account"
Email requests are processed within 30 days. We will confirm by email once the deletion is complete.
2. What Deletion Covers
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your shared Orb account itself (used by OrbGuard, OrbVPN, and OrbBrowser)
- Your scan history and scan results
- Your registered devices
- Location and anti-theft data (including any stored device locations)
- Your scan credits
- Passkeys registered to your account
- All other personal data associated with your account
Deletion is permanent and not recoverable. We cannot restore a deleted account, its subscription entitlement, its scan credits, or any of its data afterwards.
3. What Deletion Does NOT Do
Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Store subscriptions are billed by Apple and Google, not by us, so you must cancel them yourself in your store's subscription settings:
- iOS: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → OrbGuard → Cancel
- Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → OrbGuard → Cancel
If you delete your account without cancelling, the store may continue to charge you for a subscription you can no longer use.
4. Data We May Retain
In limited cases we may retain some minimal records after deletion where the law requires it — for example transaction records for tax and accounting purposes, or records needed for fraud prevention. Any retained records are kept only as long as legally required and are not used for any other purpose.
